John Trumper grew up in Philadelphia, received all his medical and Pediaric education there, followed by 3 years in the U.S. Public Health Service. He served on the Navajo Reservation, then as a Peace Corps Staff Physician in the Dominican Republic and Colombia. The family then moved to Vermont where his Pediatric practice was based for 40 years..During that time they worked on the Chippewa and Lakota Sioux reservations in the Dakotas on Sabbatical. After “retiring”, he did several locums in Tennessee; then In 2000 he practiced in New Zealand, mostly with Maori patients, several months annually for 3 years, organized a Pediatrician exchange 1 month/year in Karelia in Russia in the 1990’s. His last work was with Grenfel Health in Newfoundland, Canada in 2004. They retired to Maine in 2011.
